    StemVera Health

A Denver telehealth brand built from a deliberately empty starting point

StemVera Health is a Denver telehealth practice. The build began from an intentionally opinion-free scaffold so that every architectural and visual decision was made against the actual brand rather than inherited from a template that happened to be there first.

Most projects start from whatever the tool generated, and every unexamined default from that first minute survives into the finished product. For a health brand, where credibility is carried almost entirely by restraint and clarity, inherited defaults are not neutral. They are decisions someone else made about how the practice should look.

    The brief

What the engagement had to deliver

StemVera Health came to us with a clear set of outcomes rather than a page count. Everything below was agreed before design started.

    • Start from a deliberately generic scaffold with no assumed structure, naming or styling
    • Make every architectural and visual decision explicitly against the brand
    • Build a telehealth presence that reads as clinically credible rather than as consumer wellness
    • Ship server-rendered so the content is fully available to search and answer engines

    Key challenges

What made this build harder than a template

    • Telehealth sits between medicine and consumer software, and drifting too far toward either damages credibility with a patient
    • Starting from nothing is slower at the beginning and only pays off if the discipline holds through the whole build
    • Health content has to be precise without becoming unreadable
    • Patients arrive from search with a specific question, so entry can happen on any page

    Our approach

    How we built it

The project started as a deliberately zero-opinion scaffold, no domain naming, no assumed structure, no styling beyond legibility, specifically so that nothing carried forward by accident. Every subsequent decision was made against the brand rather than inherited. The visual language sits closer to clinical than to consumer wellness, because the trust question in telehealth is whether this is real medicine. Content is structured so any page can be an entry point, since a patient arriving from search rarely lands on the homepage.

    The front end

    What visitors see

    • Built from a deliberately opinion-free scaffold with no inherited template decisions
    • Visual language calibrated toward clinical credibility rather than consumer wellness
    • Content structured so any page can serve as a search entry point
    • Server-side rendered for complete first-request HTML
    • Full mobile treatment for phone-first health searching

    The stack

    What it is built on

    • TanStack Start
    • React 19
    • TanStack Router
    • Tailwind v4
    • Server-side rendering on Cloudflare Workers

    Results

    What changed

    • A brand with no inherited template decisions anywhere in it
    • A telehealth presence that reads as clinical rather than as consumer wellness
    • Every page usable as a search entry point rather than assuming homepage arrival
    • Complete server-rendered HTML for search and answer engines

    Common questions

Questions about the StemVera Health build

Why start a project from an empty scaffold instead of a template?

Because every default in a template is a decision someone else made, and unexamined defaults survive into the finished product. Starting empty costs time at the beginning and prevents a category of drift you cannot unwind later.

How should a telehealth site establish clinical credibility?

Mostly through restraint. Precision in language, clarity in structure, and a visual system closer to medicine than to consumer wellness. Patients are asking whether this is real care, and decorative design answers that question badly.

Why does every page need to work as an entry point?

Because patients arrive from search with a specific question and land on the page that answered it, not on the homepage. A page that only makes sense after reading the homepage will fail most of the people who see it.
